Blantyre City Council has suspended the distribution of maize to the residents of the city today following the accident that happened yesterday along the Magalasi road.
The accident affected the lore that the drivers failed to control the speeding Turtle.
Reports indicate that as many as 40 people boarded the car when they were coming from the Kamuzu stadium where they were receiving maize.
Confirming the matter, the head of the council, Denis Chinseu, said that they have stopped the project with the aim of giving people who have lost their relatives an opportunity to mourn.
Chinseu said the work will resume tomorrow.
