Lloyd Chalemera, the police officer in charge of Chiradzulu, stated that Vumbwe is a pastor at the Supervision church in Ndunde, within the district.

He reported that Vumbwe sent his wife to the village and instructed the church to send their children to his house for work.

“Once the girl arrived, Vumbwe pressured her to sleep with him, and this became a regular occurrence over time,” Chalemera said. He also noted that Vumbwe has been telling the girl that he intends to marry her while they were engaging in sexual relations.

Vumbwe, who is under the authority of Jombo, the chief of N’gabu in Chikwawa District, will appear before court soon
