Police in Nsanje have arrested a 45-year-old man, John Gavi, for allegedly trafficking six people to Mozambique.

Nsanje Police spokesperson Sub Inspector Agnes Zalakoma stated that Gavi, who comes from the village of Nthukuso under the chieftaincy of Malemia in the district, intended for these individuals to work in unsafe mines.

Zalakoma noted, “The people being trafficked include Jeremiah Njazi, Paul Binda, Shamo Watson, Isaac Ready, Elias Batista, and Evance Ackim, all from Lundu under the chieftaincy of Malemia in this district.”

Police indicated that the suspects will be taken to court soon.
