Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Director of Women and Thyolo Thava MP, Mary Navicha, addressed circulating rumors about her alleged arrest.

In a Facebook post, Navicha clarified that she has not been taken into custody, contrary to reports spreading on social media.

She stated that while she has been informed of being on a police list for potential arrest, she is willing to cooperate with authorities if formally summoned.

The arrest rumour was once spread by human rights activist Bon Kalindo who mentioned name of prominent people police wanted to arrest and Navicha was among the list.

Meanwhile, National Police Spokesperson Peter Kalaya refuted the reports of her arrest, dismissing them as baseless. The situation remains fluid, with no official charges reported so far.
