The general secretary of the United Transformation Movement (UTM), Patricia Kaliati, who is still in police custody, has now been transferred from the police headquarters in Area 30 to the Lilongwe Police Station in Area 3.
Many people from different parties, including UTM, United Democratic Front (UDF), and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), have gathered at the police station.
The police have closed the gate to the police station, while some party members are singing various songs.
There are rumors that Ms. Kaliati will be taken to court today, but this has become doubtful as time goes on.
This morning, people flocked to the police headquarters in Area 30, where the police used tear gas to disperse the crowd.
