Police in Mangochi District have arrested a 35-year-old man,  on suspicion of sexually assaulting two young relatives, aged 12 and 10, inside a partially constructed church in the Makawa area. In the district.

Mangochi police’s spokesperson Amina Tepani Daudi, has confirmed the arrest and identified the suspect as  James Phiri who is charged for  defiling two minors who were selling samosas at the Makawa market.

According to Daudi, Phiri bought two samosas from the children and paid them K1,000. However, the children were unable to find change to give back to Phiri. As a result, Daudi said, Phiri instructed the children to follow him so he could provide the.

Phiri is currently in police custody and he will soon appear in court to answer charges levelled against him.
