The Lilongwe Resident Magistrate’s Court has ordered a Rwandan citizen, Epimark Nzakamba, to pay 200,000 for damaging the road.

Lingadzi Police Deputy Spokesperson Constable Maria Kumwenda said the court heard through Superintendent Davison Banda that the officer was driving a minibus from Kanengo around 8am.

When he arrived at the intersection of Area 28, he passed by the site where the road is being repaired on the side that is closed and destroyed the bricks in the road, unfortunately the police saw him.

When he appeared at the court, the officer accepted the charge and Resident Magistrate Shukran Kumbani said that the officer should pay 200 thousand kwacha and spend two months in prison.

So far the official has given the money.
