Information reaching publication indicates that a fire has destroyed the Rejoice Elementary School in Liwonde, Machinga District.
The fire broke out yesterday in the afternoon, causing significant damage, including the loss of 67 tins of goods, 1,350 kg of corn, 35 plastic chairs, and other items. Fortunately, no students were injured.
Liwonde police spokesperson Ngwashape Msume confirmed that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Authorities have urged the public to avoid fire hazards and report any suspicious activity to the police.
