The University of Johannesburg has indefinitely suspended two female students, identified only as Ayanda and Thandiwe, after a video surfaced of them appearing unclothed at a beach.
Both students, sophomores in the humanities department, were called before the university’s disciplinary committee to address allegations that their actions brought disrepute to the institution.
After a formal hearing, the committee decided on indefinite suspensions, pending a future review by university authorities.
The university has not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident, and it remains unclear if further disciplinary measures will be considered.
