The world’s tallest woman, Rumeysa Gelgi, and the world’s shortest woman, Jyoti Amge, have met for the first time in an extraordinary encounter at The Savoy Hotel in London.

This landmark meeting was part of The two women enjoyed afternoon tea, shared their life stories, and celebrated their unique achievements as record holders.

Rumeysa Gelgi, a 27-year-old web developer from Turkey, stands at a remarkable height of 215.16 cm (7 ft 1 in), earning her the title of the world’s tallest woman. Her exceptional height is attributed to a rare condition known as Weaver syndrome, which causes accelerated growth and skeletal abnormalities. Gelgi’s diagnosis was the 27th recorded globally and the first in Turkey. Despite requiring a wheelchair and using a walker for short distances, she embraces her role as a record-holder with grace.

On the other end of the spectrum is Jyoti Amge, a 30-year-old actress from India, who measures just 62.8 cm (2 ft 1 in), making her the world’s shortest woman. Amge has achondroplasia, a type of dwarfism that affects bone growth. Despite the challenges of her condition, including short limbs and a distinct head shape, she leads a vibrant life and is best known for her portrayal of ‘Ma Petite’ in the American television series American Horror Story.

During their meeting, Gelgi and Amge discovered shared interests that transcended their physical differences. “We do have things in common; we both love make-up, self-care, and doing our nails,” Gelgi remarked, as reported by The Scottish Sun. Amge shared similar sentiments, saying, “I’m delighted that I’ve met Rumeysa, she is so good-natured, and I felt very comfortable talking to her. Thanks to Rumeysa’s warm and sincere attitude, I felt very comfortable.”

Their meeting not only highlighted their remarkable physical differences but also celebrated their shared humanity and mutual understanding, leaving a lasting impression as part of the Guinness World Records legacy.
