Former United Transformation Movement (UTM) Secretary General Patricia Kaliati has said she will not campaign for the party ahead of the 2025 polls.

Kaliati’s sentiment follows the outcome of the just ended elective conference which saw Kaliati performing miserably.

In a voice clip circulating on social media, Kaliati is heard blaming Saulos Chilima’s spirit for her defeat.

“Why should I suffer because of the legacy of Chilima. I cannot do that, I cannot. I’m big enough,” said Kaliaiti in an audio clip currently trending on social media.

Sources close to Kaliaiti indicates that she is on the verge of resigning from the party.

Kaliati amassed 21 votes and she was last in the Presidential polls race which saw former Reserve Bank of Malawi Governor Dalitso Kabambe emerging victorious.
