Eight students from the University of Malawi (UNIMA) sustained injuries on Sunday  after their vehicle was stoned while returning from Catholic University in Chiradzulu.

According to UNIMA Sports Coordinator Precious Bonzo, the attack was allegedly carried out by two unidentified individuals. The stoning resulted in broken vehicle windows, injuring six students from shattered glass and two others hit by stones.

In response, Catholic University Sports Coordinator Raphael Banda confirmed that the institution has launched an investigation to identify those responsible for the incident.

Meanwhile, Chiradzulu Police Spokesperson Lloyd Chalemera stated that their office has not yet received any formal complaints regarding the matter.
