Fans and followers of Malawi’s beloved musician, Patience Namadingo, popularly known as Dr. Namadingo, have reacted strongly to a post he shared on his Facebook page on the evening of November 25, 2025.
In his post, Namadingo expressed gratitude for a year free of struggles, writing,”The year is almost over, and there hasn’t been a single day I’ve struggled. Mmmh. Amen. Blessings on your what what.”
While many praised him for his positive reflection and faith, some netizens criticized the post, calling it insensitive given the challenges many Malawians are currently facing.
Critics described the statement as dismissive of the struggles people are enduring, with one commenter writing, “Not everyone has been as fortunate this year.”
Responding to the backlash, Namadingo explained that his post was an acknowledgment of God’s blessings in his life and a celebration of overcoming past hardships. He stated, “God doesn’t want His children to suffer. I’ve gone through so much in my life, and this is my time to rejoice.”
“It was never said to love going to church, but to love others as you love yourself. Do you hear me, Christians?
Going to church is number 1, Loving others is 0” posted Namadingo.
The post continues to spark debate, with some defending Namadingo’s right to celebrate his blessings while others urge public figures to be more mindful of their words during trying times.
