One Tonse Alliance partner, Umodzi Party, has called for urgent government action to address irregularities that have reportedly marred implementation of this year’s Affordable Inputs Program (AIP).

In a letter released today signed by party president Thomas Wezzie Kaumba, the party has cited challenges such as missing of names of beneficiaries on the beneficiaries list and incorrect representation of names.

The party says the challenges apart from causing distress among the beneficiaries are also undermining government’s efforts to ensure food security in the country.

Ministry of agriculture are yet to comment on the call by Umodzi Party.
