A 38-year-old businessman in Mangochi, identified as Nsamzimama Claude, popularly known as JC, has died following a road at Samama area along Mangochi-Monkey Bay Road.

Mangochi police station spokesperson Inspector Amina Tepani Daudi, has said the accident occurred Claude, who was driving a Toyota Allex, registration number CK 8460, from Monkey-bay side collided with a stationary Scania truck registration number NS 8190.

Inspector Daudi said the truck had broken down and was parked on the nearside of the road.

She said their preliminary investigations reveal that Claude was speeding, causing the collision.

He sustained severe head injuries due to the impact and was rushed to Mangochi district hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
