Malawian bodybuilder Zacheus Phiri claimed three gold medals at the Bodybuilding and Fitness Africa League of Champions Tournament held on Sunday in Zambia.

Phiri, who recently placed second in the 2024 Malawi Nationals Bodybuilding Championship, triumphed in the Men’s Warriors, Men’s Extreme, and Overall Bodybuilding categories. His victories have earned him a World Fitness Federation Professional Division Pro-Card License, a significant milestone in his career.

Reflecting on his success, Phiri credited his achievements to rigorous training in preparation for the competition.

Other Malawian competitors also performed well, with Christopher Mwakabanga securing second place in the Junior Bodybuilding category and Bruce John finishing fourth in the Men’s Physique category.

Carlos Simwaka, General Secretary of the Bodybuilding Fitness Association of Malawi (BFAM), hailed the results as a testament to the sport’s growing prominence in Malawi.
