Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Blantyre City South East Constituency Sameer Sulemani has questioned government for failing to organize a farewell party for former Minister of Labour Agnes Nyalonje.
Nyalonje resigned from her post days ago and she cited the tragic death of former Malawi Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima’s tragic death as the main reason.
Standing on point of order in Parliament Sulemani said: “Is it not in order for the government to organise a farewell party for former Minister of Labour Agnes Nyalonje who did the right thing to jump the ship before it sunk. i had expected the whole cabinet to resign looking at the failure of this government.”
But Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Aisha Adams ruled Sulemani out of order.
Suleman was suspended for 5 days in Parliament for challenging First Deputy Speaker Madalitso Kazombo.
