President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has returned to the country following his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he was invited by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, to discuss matters related to government-to-government fuel procurement and bilateral talks.

Upon his arrival, President Chakwera was welcomed by several officials, including Minister of Trade Sosten Gwengwe, Minister of Homeland Security Ken Zikhale Ng’oma, Minister of Agriculture Sam Kawale, Deputy Secretary to the Office of the President and Cabinet Dr. Janet Banda, the Mayor of Lilongwe City Her Worship Esther Sagawa, as well as chiefs and other senior government officials.

While in Abu Dhabi- UAE, President Chakwera engaged various UAE government officials including the Chief Executive Officer for the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development on Malawi’s development and investment interests.

The President also took advantage of the visit to sell the Agriculture, Tourism and Mining (ATM) strategy to Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.
