Residents of Chiradzulu District have expressed frustration over their inability to purchase  subsidised fertiliser, despite the availability of the product at designated selling points.

According to reports, many individuals have been repeatedly turned away from the selling points since last week, with the issue being attributed to network problems.

One of the affected individuals, Hatite Mafuta, a woman who is eligible for the subsidy program, shared her disappointment. She revealed that she had visited the local sales points for four consecutive days, but each time she was unable to purchase the fertilizer.

“I am very frustrated because, instead of working in my field, I’ve been spending my whole day standing in line, hoping to buy the fertilizer,” Mafuta said.

On a visit to one of the distribution points around 2 p.m., SFFRFM official Benson Gwedeza was seen addressing the ongoing network issues.

“These delays are caused by network failures. The individuals causing confusion are those who chose to bypass the system, and now we are working to resolve the issue so that people can buy fertilizer without further disruption,” Gwedeza stated.

Despite the setbacks, Gwedeza assured the public that the situation was being handled and that they would soon be able to purchase the fertilizer without further delays.
