Malawian prophet Shepherd Bushiri, leader of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Church, has criticized the South African media for alleged bias and hypocrisy.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Bushiri expressed frustration over the media’s failure to cover his well-attended Crossover Night prayers at FNB Stadium, which he claimed drew crowds of 110,000 people on four consecutive occasions.

Bushiri compared this to extensive media coverage of American singer Chris Brown, who was hailed as the “biggest crowd puller” after attracting 94,000 attendees at a concert in the same venue.

The prophet, who is currently facing multiple charges, including fraud, in South Africa, accused the media of harboring a “hidden agenda” to “hate men of God and celebrate evil.”

Bushiri’s remarks have sparked mixed reactions online, with supporters echoing his sentiments and critics questioning his allegations.
