Abba Marcus, the eldest son of Ugandan music icon Jose Chameleone and Daniella Atim, has revealed that his father is battling acute pancreatitis caused by prolonged alcohol consumption.

In a TikTok video, Marcus shared that Chameleone’s addiction has led to significant weight loss and health deterioration, echoing warnings from doctors that the singer may have only two years to live if he does not change his habits.

“My father struggles with alcohol addiction… something he’s been grappling with for quite some time,” Marcus disclosed, emphasizing the urgency of his father receiving help.

He also criticized the indifference of Chameleone’s extended family, stating, “Nobody would know who the Mayanjas were if it wasn’t for my father.” Marcus expressed disappointment in their lack of support, along with frustration at the perceived exploitation of Chameleone by friends who prioritize his financial contributions over his well-being.

Addressing the backlash his mother, Daniella Atim, has faced on social media, Marcus defended her, insisting she should not be blamed for his father’s struggles. He also attributed some of the family’s issues to generational irresponsibility, remarking on the legacy of similar struggles faced by his late uncles.

Concluding his statement, Marcus expressed both anger and concern, urging the family and fans to rally together to help Chameleone overcome his challenges. “We need to work together to get my father the help that he needs,” he said.
