Cyclone Chido has finally landed in the commercial capital Blantyre as earlier warned by the Department of Weather and Meteorological Services.

The cyclone has been accompanied by strong winds which has left various structures destroyed and one of it being a billboard carrying the face of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera which was mounted at chichiri round about in the city long time ago.

Faceofmalawi reporter captured the billboard literally on the ground.

As this is not enough, some big trees around Sunnyside Township in Blantyre are falling due to the strong winds blowing across the city.

However, the city is yet to start receiving heavy rains as predicted.
