Death has been announced of Sister Gladys Luka Benito who belonged to the congregation of Servants of the blessed virgin Mary (SBVM).

Secretary of the Association of Women in Religious institutes of Malawi Sister Agnes Magalasi has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to this publication.

According to Magalasi, Sister Luka died yesterday at Ngulidi Hospital in Chiradzulu after a short illness.

Sr. Gladys was born on 8th September 1992 at Chikwinja village , T/A Mpamba, Nyungwe parish – Blantyre Archdiocese.

She joined the Servants of the Blessed Virgin Mary on 18th March 2016. She has served as a religious sister for only 8 years.

She will be buried at Mary view formation centre on Thursday 19th December 2024 beginning with mass at 10am.

Sister Luka died at the age of 32.
