The United Transformation Movement (UTM) has summoned the country State Vice President Dr. Michael Usi to a disciplinary hearing over his alleged conduct against the party’s constitution.
The summon comes barely a day after Usi accused some UTM top officials of embezzling money left by late Dr. Saulos Chilima meant run the affairs of the party.
UTM Director of Legal Affairs Charles Dokera Thole confirmed of the summon in a statement made available to this publication.
According to Thole, Usi is being accused of mobilizing UTM supporters at a government function despite knowledge that the party terminated its political coalition with the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
Thole stresses that Usi used the “Boma ndi lomweli” slogan which belongs to the MCP.
Usi is expected to appear to the disciplinary hearing on Monday, 30 December 2024.
Effort to talk to Usi proved futile.
