Information reaching this publication indicates that lorry carrying Malawi Congress Party (MCP) supporters from Monkey-Bay caught fire at a roundabout in Mangochi.

The incident caused commotion as some MCP supporters were seen jumping from the lorry registration number SA 3951.

MCP supporters are gathering at Mankhwala roundabout in Mangochi to welcome President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

No injuries have been registered during the fracas.

Onlookers and MCP supporters have since managed to control the fire.
