National Aids Commission (NAC) has donated about 700,000 note books worth K49 million to Ministry of Education bearing HIV and AIDS messages.

NAC board chairperson  Mary Kumbweza Banda said her organization decided to donate books with HIV and Aids messages to help pupils change their social behavior.

After receiving the donation Minister of Education Science and Technology Dr Lucious Kanyumba said reaching out to schools with HIV and AIDS messages stimulates pupils’ interest to play a role in the fight against the disease.

“As they are using the note books, pupils will also have the opportunity at the same time reading HIV messages. This is killing two birds with one stone because HIV messages have been brought closer to them (pupils)”, said Kanyumba.

The ceremony took place at Malabvi Primary School.
