ecurity officers at Kacholola Checkpoint in collaboration with wildlife and forest officers have arrested 23 individuals believed to be Ethiopian immigrants in a late-night operation on Tuesday, 11th February.
The operation was initiated after officers received an intelligence report about a suspicious Toyota Vitz Registration ARC 760, seen passing through the checkpoint multiple times without passengers.
This raised suspicions, prompting officers to alert their counterparts at Unyanya Checkpoint to monitor two vehicles; a Toyota Regius of unknown color and a white Toyota Vitz.
During the search, a Toyota Regius Registration ARC 4874, was intercepted around 22:00 hours.
The driver fled the scene, leaving the engine off but 23 Ethiopian nationals were found inside the vehicle while the Toyota Vitz managed to evade capture by turning back and speeding away.
