Lilongwe’s Food Lovers Market, operated by One Stop Trading, is set to shut down due to prevailing economic hardships in Malawi.
In an official statement signed by Arson Malola, the company cited foreign exchange shortages and poor business performance as the main reasons for the closure.
The statement explains that despite numerous efforts to navigate the economic difficulties, the business has struggled to remain profitable, ultimately leading to the decision to close operations at the Gateway Mall location.
The announcement marks another setback for the retail sector in Malawi, as businesses continue to grapple with tough economic conditions.
