It never rain but pours on the ruling People’s Party (PP) lead by Dr Joyce Banda as it continues to receive criticisms from all corners .

The latest attack being the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), Presidential torchbearer, Peter Mutharika who described Joyce Banda as ” a total failure who has messed up a golden opportunity” to prove herself as a capable leader.

Mutharika uttered this on Friday at a rally he conducted at Luchenza in Thyolo where he was with his running mate Saulos Chilima.

In his speech Mutharika said:

“When I am elected President on May 20, I will spend more of my time in office and I will not waste time in distributing  Chickens and goats in the village.

We gave Joyce a chance to prove if she is a good leader but she has failed”.

Mutharika said that was why, he decided to give Banda a ‘red card’ to show that her time to rule the country is over.

In his reaction, People’s Party (PP) deputy spokesperson Ken Msonda blasted Mutharika’s remarks, saying DPP cannot teach Malawians about good governance.

The DPP leader further told people that gathered at the rally that once he is elected, his government will introduce programmes to benefit all citizens, especially women and the youths.
