Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has called upon all Malawians to come out in large numbers and check for their details in the Centers where they registered once the registration Centres are open.
The Centres will be opened starting from 24th to 28th March 2014 to give a chance to voters who lost their voter registration to get a duplicate certificate.
Commissioner Rev. Emmanuel Chimkwita Phiri made the remarks in Lilongwe on Monday when he officially opened trainings of District Elections Clerks and Constituency Returning Officers on the voter register Inspection.
“Registered voters who lost their certificates should also go to the centers where they registered to get their duplicates which will enable them vote easily on May 20,2014.
“The commission is also urging the public that they should report deaths of their relatives so that they should be removed from the voters. they should bring the voter certificate and the death certificate or a letter from traditional or religious leader as evidence”, he said.
The voter Inspection exercise will be carried in two phases.
