Malawi national golf team is in Cape Town, South Africa ahead of a three day zone six tournament which tees off on Wednesday up to Friday this week.

The Golf Union of Malawi General Secretary Hudson Kantwanje told the media that the team comprising nine players plus the technical panel arrived in Cape Town on Sunday.

The players have been drawn from Lilongwe, Blantyre, Limbe and Kasasa golf clubs.

Earlier, the players had three sessions of training camp in Lilongwe and Blantyre respectively. The final training session was held during this year’s TNM Malawi Open at the Lilongwe Golf Club.

Meanwhile, over ten countries are expected to take part in the competition.

Malawi finished fourth last year and hosts South Africa are the defending champions.
