United Democratic Front (UDF) Presidential torchbearer  Atupele Muluzi has express discontent over the airing of unofficial results of the Malawi’s first ever tripartite election while voting in some centres  is underway, saying this will influence electorate to vote for a candidate who seems to be leading.

The young Muluzi of Ung’ono Ung’ono fame said this in an interview with one of the local radio station in the country.

In his speech, Muluzi called upon Malawi Electoral Commission  (MEC) to stop airing the unofficial results from some centres across the country.

MEC chairpesorson Maxon Mbendera, when questioned on the matter yesterday  night during a press briefing, he said ‘this is the risk Malawians has to take’.

Several radio station including the official broadcaster of the official results of the first ever tripartite election is airing  unofficial results of the election.
