Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) which is the official broadcaster of the May elections on the part of the radio has distanced itself from claims that it announced DPP leader Peter Mutharika as the winner of the May elections.
In a statement from the management of the radio station, ZBS has indicated that what it released were just figures and not results of the May polls.
ZBS together with the state television MBCtv were appointed as the official broadcasters of the election results. In their unofficial announcements they had indicated that Mutharika had carried the day.
Meanwhile MCP has challenged them arguing that they are the ones who have won.
