The country’s Vice President on Saturday thanked Malawians for entrusting the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) under the Leadership of President Professor Peter Mutharika to rule the country for five years, saying the party will make sure that all promises made are fulfilled.

Chilima said this during a thanks giving ceremony after laying a wreath on his late father’s and other relations’ tombstones at his paternal home at Ching’anga Village in the area of Traditional Authority Njewa in Lilongwe.

“There can only be one President at a time. This is our time and believe us, the DPP-led government is determined to fulfill all the promises it made to Malawians,

“We will work to the best of our ability to ensure that we bring development to all areas regardless of political differences,” said Chilima.

On his part Traditional Authority Njewa said he, together with all the people from the area, felt proud that they had their own ‘son’ as the country’s Vice President.

This is the second Mass service the Vice President has attended since DPP ascended  to the high office.
