The Country’s First Lady Gertrude Hendrina Mutharika has been invited to Co-chair the African First Ladies Round-table Forum to be held in Washington DC in United States of America.

The Forum will be held starting from August 5 to 7 2014.

This has been disclosed in a Press Statement released from State House and posted on the government Official Facebook page few minutes ago.

According to the statement, the Round table has been organized by Global Political Solutions, Miss Africa Foundation and The New Era Capital with support from Joint Centre for Political & Economic Studies.

“The forum is focused on bringing together, a broad spectrum of women for a well-balanced discussion on The Role and Importance of Women in Business and Government in the 21st Century.

“As Co-Chair, Madame Mutharika will preside over the event, as First Lady of Malawi and will have the honour of inviting another African First Lady, to join her,” reads the statement.

The African First Ladies Round-table Forum on Women in Business and Government will be held alongside the US-African Leaders Summit which will be convened by President Barrack Obama.
