Police in Mangochi are keeping in custody two FMB employees and a security guard for allegedly being in connection with the K3 million which was stolen after an auto-teller machine (ATM) was broken at Makawa Trading Centre last week with unknown thugs.
Mangochi police Public Relations Officer, Rodrick Maida confirmed of the development.
Maida identified the three as Penjani Phiri, 32 Tiyamike Mwikhale, 27 and Precious Nixel, 23, all working for FMB Bank in the district.
According to police, the incident happened on June 25, 2014 around 3am when the security guard who was on duty at ATM belonging to FMB discovered that the machine had been broken at the time he was doing routine patrols.
Meanwhile the unknown thugs are still at large
