In a statement, State House Press Office says the President hopes that the holy month of Ramadan will bring peace, unity and prosperity to all Malawians.
Mutharika said he appreciated and valued the cordial relationship that exists between the Muslim community and government as well as other religions.
The President said faith groups play an important role in reducing poverty through provision of education and health services among others.
