Malawi “The Flames” squeezed through to the second qualifying round of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations after losing 3-1 to Chad on Saturday.

Robin Ngalande scored the valuable goal deep in the second half to ensure the Flames qualification on an away-goals rule despite the loss in the return leg in Chad.

Malawi carried to Ndjamena a 2-0 goal lead at the 30 000-seater Idriss Mahamat Ouya stadium.

The Bidvest Wits striker scored just when Chad looked comfortable after going ahead in the 17th, 25th and 32nd minutes respectively through a Rodrigue Ninga double and one from Kasmir.

Malawi, who have never won in Chad, now play either Sao Tome or Benin who won the first leg 2-0.

The winner of this stage will complete group B comprising seeded Mali, Ethiopia and Algeria.
