Teachers in Lilongwe have given the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) seven days to pay them their allowances or else they will stop administering the ongoing Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) Examinations.

These teachers are the ones that were deployed in various centres by MEC during the May 20 tripartite election.

Speaking when they presented a petition to Lilongwe city Council, the concerned teachers said they were tired of waiting.

They warned that they will take drastic actions if MEC does not pay them by Tuesday next week.
