Since President Professor Author Peter Mutharika ascended to the high office, hiring and firing of top government officials has been the order of the day.
The latest being the firing of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director Renzine Nzikamanda and Director of Public Prosecution Bruno Kalemba.
Sources from the Office of the President and Cabinet confined to FaceofMalawi in an interview.
“The President is to make appointments of new head of Anti-Corruption Bureau,” sources informed.
However, Office of President and Cabinet refused to comment on the new appointment saying “the public will be rightfully informed when any appointment has been made.”
Unconfirmed reports indicate that Nzikamanda will be heading to Supreme Court of Appeal to be Chief Justice while the fate of Kalemba is not known.
Kalemba’s sacking comes just a week after a well known businessman Oswald Lutepo, the prime suspect in the plundering of public funds dubbed cashgate scandal disclosed to Attorney General in a letter that Kalemba and other PP officials by then forced him to implicate former Justice Minister Ralph Kasambara.
The development resulted to the arrest of Lutepo who was later charged with Perjury.
