As testifying of former Budget Director Mr. Paul Mphwiyo on his attempted murder which led to the revelations of plundering of Public funds that happened at Capitol Hill dubbed Cashgate enters the second day at High Court in Lilongwe.

Mphwiyo has also added Ex-Minister in the then ruling People’s Party (PP) Henry Phoya being among the people who were pressurising him to approve payments to some companies, among them Glens Waterways and Deco/Terrastone which was claiming K9 billion.

Mphwiyo started testifying on his case on Wednesday. Both at High court and at his residence in Lilongwe at area 43 where the incident happened, Mphwiyo mentioned former Justice minister Ralph Kasambara, Pika Manondo, Patrick Gadama and PP spokesperson Hophmally Makande being among the people who forced him to sign a check for the service not offered to the government.

In earlier hearing Kasambara and other suspect pleaded not guilty to the allegedly conspiring and attempting to kill Mphwiyo.

The state has eight witness to parade in Court to support the case.
