Ali Kaka Chinemba’s dream of being released on bail soon has been shuttered as the High Court in Blantyre have differed his bail application to a later day.

Chinemba a businessman as well as a politician was arrested last week for allegedly shooting to death a 20 year-old man, Davie Kadzuwa Banda with a pump gun.

Kaka is suspected to have shot Banda after the two quarreled when the deceased had parked a lorry which was offloading sand near the passage that leads to Chinemba’s residence blocking the way in the process.

The development angered residents around his compound who went on rampage burning his vehicle .

Ali Kaka made his bail application through his lawyer Zwelithini Chipembere.

When approached for comment on the bail application, Chipembere said he was not ready to pre-empt what was contained in the bail application.

“We actually applied for bail, but the court has reserved its ruling. Am afraid, am not liberty to explain what is contained in the application since the matter is still continuing in court” he said.

Chinemba was once arrested at Chileka International Airport for allegedly using his father’s passport to travel outside the country
