Duduzane Zuma, the son of President Jacob Zuma, will appear at a formal inquest on Friday, at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court, to determine if he was criminally responsible for the death of a young woman.

In February, Zuma was involved in an accident that led to the death of a young woman and injured three people.

Zuma’s allegedly hit a minibus taxi in Rivonia, Johannesburg while driving his Porsche which caused the minibus to overturn.

Zuma failed to appear in court for the inquest on August 12. His lawyer Pieter van der Merwe told the state that Zuma only found out about the court proceedings that same morning of his expected appearance.

This was disputed by State prosecutor Yusuf Baba who said a subpoena was issued to Zuma’s legal representative on 25 July.
