As parliament enters second day in Lilongwe, Minister of Finance Goodall Gondwe is today afternoon Scheduled to present the 2014/15 National Budget.

The budget was supposed to be presented during the previous meeting but President Mutharika delayed it because he wanted the Budget to be in line with the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) manifesto.

Since the Financial year for the Government starts on July 1 and end on June 30, Gondwe was compelled to table in Parliament a Provisional Budget to run for three months-start from July 1, 2014-September this month.

During the Pre-Budget consultation by Minister of Finance with various stakeholders in all three regions of Malawi, Gondwe pegged the 2014/15 budget at over K700 billion.

Meanwhile expectations are high among Malawians on how the Budget which is a Zero-Aid Budget will be like.
