The Drivers Association of Malawi (DAMA) has appealed to authorities to intensify screening for the Ebola virus in all border posts.

DAMA spokesperson Madalitso Ndaxowa said the screening will especially be targeting drivers who travel across borders as these are likely to be prone groups for the out-break.

The Association says it will make sure that all drivers comply with this arrangement.

He further said it was encouraging and comforting to note that government has already put in place measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

He also appealed to other well-wishers to join hands with government in ensuring that the country is better equipped to prevent Ebola.

Meanwhile screening equipment has been placed at Kamuzu International Airport as one control mechanism.

Ministry of Health has also designated six border districts with ports of entry like Mwanza,Dedza, Mchinji, Karonga, Chitipa and Mulanje as Ebola management centers.
