Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) Public Relations Officer Simeon Maganga has downplayed public fears that the fire that gutted the body’s warehouse will affect the yet to be released Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) Examinations results.
The fierce fire started at noon on Thursday when all staff were out for lunch, destroying almost the whole Warehouse.
The development gripped fear among the general public that the fire might have destroyed some examination papers.
Responding to the quarries, Maganga said: “Not at all; this does not have an impact on any examination. It is just a warehouse were we put some of our materials but administration of examinations is not done there. The examinations will not be affected”.
The incident comes just barely a day after MANEB released results of Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE) and Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) Examinations.
Meanwhile investigations to establish the cause of the fire are in progress.
