Fire on Friday night raised down Kalikuti Hotel in the capital Lilongwe destroying property worth millions in the process.
The development comes barely weeks after another fire raised down Mchesi Furniture Shops in the same capital leaving owners hopeless.
Information reaching FaceofMalawi indicates that the fire started at around 11pm, destroying everything in the Hotel’s northern wing, which comprise the reception, conference halls, restaurant, bar.
According to officials at the city`s fire department the fire has not caused any casualties and deaths in humans or workers at the hotel.
Although fire fighters from Lilongwe City Council were seen around putting down the fire, the team’s efforts were proving too little too late as the fire was just too strong to be contained.
Meanwhile the cause of the fire is yet to be established.
