A-25-year old son is in Police custody in Mzimba for allegedly killing his own father over a packet of Kamba.

Mzimba Police Spokesperson Gabriel Chiona confirmed of the arrest in an interview with the press and identified the suspect as Pilirani Soko and the deceased as Lenson Mayele Soko, 58.

The two are said to have picked up a quarrel after Pilirani failed to deliver home a packet of munchies known as Kamba Puffs, or ‘cha abambo’ his father had bought for children at home.

According to the eyewitness, the development angered his father who pounced on Pilirani resulting to big fight between the two.

“Mr. Soko died on the spot due,” said the eyewitness.

When members of police community moved in, they arrested Pilirani and handed him over Manyamula police unit, said the eyewitness.

Palirani hails from Yotamu Ngoma village in the area of Chief Mmbelwa in the district.

Meanwhile Pilirani will appear in court soon to answer murder charges.
