Remains of National Salvation Front (NASAF) President James Mbowe Nyondo arrived in the country on Thursday through Kamuzu International Airport in the capital Lilongwe.
Nyondo died last Friday night at Steve Biko Hospital in South Africa after battling for lung cancer.
The remains of Nyondo were welcomed by thousands of Malawians including leaders of various political parties in the country and not forgetting Cabinet Ministers.
Speaking to the press after welcoming the body, Minister of Information Tourism and Culture Kondwani Nankhumwa said the government is shocked with the untimely death of Nyondo who placed the welfare of Malawians at heart.
Nyondo, 47 will be laid to rest today Friday, July 24 at Area 18 Cemetery in Lilongwe.
Late Nyondo who was lawyer by professional is survived by a wife and three Children.
