Opposition People’s Party (PP) has fired its controversial provincial chairpersons for the northern region Christopher Mzomera Ngwira and Cliffer Kondowe.

The development comes barely hours after thugs allegedly disrupted a meeting organized by PP Secretary General Ibrahim Matola and some Party bigwigs at Victory Temple in Mzuzu, preparing the return of the Party’s founder Dr. Joyce Banda.

According to information at hand, Ngwira and Kondowe are the ones who hired the thugs to disrupt the meeting hence the firing.

“I regret to inform you that you have been expelled as a Provincial Chairman and party member with immediate effect,” reads in part the letter addressed to Ngiwra signed by Matola.

Matola accused the accused the two of creating “confusion” in the party.

The Party has since ordered Ngwira and Kondowe to hand over party materials, vehicles and any other property in their possession within seven days.
